But in many ways, it has already begun.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"6294\" data-end=\"6345\">Today, systems can detect emotional states through:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"6346\" data-end=\"6468\">\n<li data-section-id=\"ub8cdl\" data-start=\"6346\" data-end=\"6368\">facial expressions<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"14ckkys\" data-start=\"6369\" data-end=\"6387\">vocal patterns<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1sxzsrv\" data-start=\"6388\" data-end=\"6407\">online behavior<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1fh7n3v\" data-start=\"6408\" data-end=\"6427\">response timing<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"11sforq\" data-start=\"6428\" data-end=\"6446\">word selection<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1asdw9w\" data-start=\"6447\" data-end=\"6468\">content consumption<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"6470\" data-end=\"6526\">\nWe are teaching machines how to recognize human emotion.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"6528\" data-end=\"6593\">And that opens extraordinary possibilities \u2014 and disturbing ones.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"6595\" data-end=\"6766\">On one side, emotional technologies may improve mental health, accessibility, education, and communication. More emotionally aware systems could improve human experiences.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"6768\" data-end=\"6815\">But there is another side to this conversation.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"6817\" data-end=\"6874\">The moment emotions become data, they also become assets.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"6876\" data-end=\"6970\">And everything that becomes an asset can be analyzed, optimized, sold, and strategically used.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"6972\" data-end=\"7013\">Imagine platforms capable of identifying:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"7014\" data-end=\"7128\">\n<li data-section-id=\"dddki5\" data-start=\"7014\" data-end=\"7037\">emotional fragility<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"14yjioe\" data-start=\"7038\" data-end=\"7052\">loneliness<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"n7lxmv\" data-start=\"7053\" data-end=\"7070\">impulsiveness<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1mesfkx\" data-start=\"7071\" data-end=\"7102\">psychological vulnerability<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1248e17\" data-start=\"7103\" data-end=\"7128\">the need for validation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"7130\" data-end=\"7229\">Now imagine that connected to advertising, politics, consumer behavior, and narrative manipulation.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"7231\" data-end=\"7286\">At that point, the question is no longer technological.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"7288\" data-end=\"7307\">It becomes ethical.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"7309\" data-end=\"7459\">Because perhaps the greatest risk of artificial intelligence is not artificial consciousness.
