Sometimes we think we are writing different songs.
But every now and then, we realize they are simply different windows looking at the same landscape.
When I finished It Stayed With Me, I suddenly understood why It Was Always There had come first.
One song speaks about recognizing something that had always been present.
The other speaks about realizing that, once truly seen, some things never leave us.
Perhaps this is true not only of ideas, but of people.
Some people seem to arrive unexpectedly.
Yet, after they appear, we slowly begin to wonder whether they were ever really strangers.
Maybe every meaningful encounter has been quietly approaching us long before the day we call it a meeting.
As if our lives were connected by invisible threads…
Not pulling us toward each other,
but gently making recognition possible.
Maybe nothing important is ever random.
Maybe we simply notice it when the time is right. 💜
