Some songs begin with a melody.
Others begin with a question.
Something More began with a thought.
Not a dramatic thought. Not a life-changing revelation. Just a small idea that slowly grew into a song.
While writing it, I started imagining the music as a conversation.
The piano would become the thought itself.
The voice would follow that thought as it unfolded.
The violin would respond, adding meaning where words were no longer enough.
The drums would do very little. Their role was simply to mark the passage of time while the conversation continued.
What surprised me was that the song gradually became about something else.
Recognition.
Those rare moments when another person sees something in us that we have not fully seen ourselves.
Not because they give us answers.
Not because they tell us who we are.
But because they notice something that was already there.
Sometimes a conversation changes us.
Sometimes a song changes us.
And sometimes a simple exchange leaves behind a different way of seeing ourselves and the world around us.
Something More is about that moment.
The moment when someone hears more than the words.
And somehow, that changes everything.
