Some songs tell stories.
Others reveal parts of who we are.
Scorpion In Me was born from the desire to translate into music some of the characteristics often associated with the Scorpio sign: emotional depth, intensity, resilience and the ability to transform challenges into growth.
The inspiration for this song is also personal.
I am a Scorpio, born on November 12, and many of the emotions, images and reflections present in the lyrics were inspired by experiences and perspectives that have accompanied me throughout my life.
However, this is not simply a song about astrology.
It is a song about the human experience.
It is about change, self-discovery, resilience and the ability to move forward while remaining true to ourselves.
In the lyrics, the scorpion appears as a symbol of transformation. It represents someone who feels deeply, observes carefully and learns to turn difficult experiences into wisdom and growth.
The musical arrangement was designed to support this journey. The instrumental layers move between moments of delicacy and intensity, creating an atmosphere that reflects both vulnerability and strength.
One special aspect of this project is the voice behind the song.
Although Maria de Castro is the artistic identity that gives life to this musical universe, the vocals were recorded by me, Andrea Fleury Curado. Through my voice, I helped bring the song to life, adding interpretation, emotion and a personal connection to the story being told.
Maria de Castro was created as a space for songs inspired by memory, emotion and human experiences. In many ways, Scorpion In Me is one of the most personal connections between the artist and her creator.
Perhaps that is why this song means so much to me.
It is not only about Scorpio.
It is about transformation.
It is about learning, growing and moving forward without losing your essence.
And perhaps that is something we can all recognize in ourselves.
